DUBAI: Dubai’s luxury property market has reached a new milestone with the sale of The Marble Palace, a Versailles-inspired mansion in Emirates Hills, for an astonishing Dh425 million ($115.8 million).

The transaction, officially recorded by the Dubai Land Department, stands as the second-most expensive residential sale in the city’s history.

According to Property Monitor, a leading real estate analytics platform, the sale is second only to the 2023 purchase of a Como Residences penthouse on Palm Jumeirah.

The Marble Palace

The Marble Palace, originally listed for Dh750 million, spans an opulent 60,000 square feet, resting on a 70,000-square-foot plot in one of Dubai’s most prestigious gated communities.

Designed with architectural grandeur reminiscent of France’s Palace of Versailles, the mansion is a marvel of craftsmanship and luxury. It features five bedrooms, two domes, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and a 70,000-litre coral reef aquarium. The property also has a private substation for power supply and fortified emergency rooms. A vast garage, accommodating up to 16 luxury vehicles, further adds to its exclusivity.

Construction of The Marble Palace took nearly 12 years to complete, concluding in 2018. The project’s extravagance is highlighted by its use of Italian stonework, costing between Dh80 to 100 million. Inside, 700,000 sheets of gold leaf adorn the interiors, while the property boasts rare artefacts, 160 marble columns, and hand-carved glass domes.

Situated in Dubai’s elite Emirates Hills neighbourhood, The Marble Palace offers sweeping views of the Burj Khalifa and a nearby golf course. The primary bedroom alone spans 3,875 square feet, complemented by a mini-primary bedroom and three guest suites.

Lavish interiors and amenities

The mansion’s luxury extends beyond its architecture. It features a 24-carat gold jacuzzi, a state-of-the-art 2,153-square-foot techno gym, and a koi pond. The formal dining room, located on the ground floor, houses an 80,000-litre coral reef aquarium and an exquisite custom-made precious stone and crystal dining table.

The exterior reflects the same level of grandeur, with over 40 containers of marble and natural stones imported from around the world for its construction.
